Dain Blanton is now the President of Getting to Gold which empowers students so that they learn to lead a self-directed education; one that involves important choices, responsibilities and commitments in order to pursue their dreams and achieve their goals. The mission of Getting to Gold is to increase student motivation and engagement for as many students as possible in middle school, high school and college through all-school assemblies, classroom presentations, and athletic team seminars within a school year.

Dain won the 2000 Olympic Gold Medal in Men’s Beach Volleyball and is the first US male to compete in two different Olympics in Beach Volleyball. Dain is also the first African-American to win a major professional beach volleyball tournament, the 1997 Hermosa Beach Grand Slam. While at Pepperdine University he won the 1992 Volleyball National Championship and received his degree in Public Relation
